& Thuxton
Thanks to a grant from Breckland Council through the Big Lottery’s Play Forum Project, the new play area was completed in August 2009. It has an open design and ample space for children to run around and express them selves in a safe way.
The Waxham One Multiway Tower is for the youngest users, giving an opportunity to play at low levels but encouraging independence. There are also toddler swings and springy rocker toys designed for children between 2 - 6 years old.
The group swing can be enjoyed by all ages. Other challenges include the Xplorer climbing unit and the in-motion roundabout.
The octagonal shelter and bench seating provide a place for parents to chat while being able to watch the children at play.
The new Children’s Play Area was officially opened by Councillor Cliff Jordan on 5th. August 2009.
The play area is open at any time during daylight hours and is designed for unsupervised use. Please leave bicycles outside the play area, observe the rule about no ball games, and play safely! Dogs are not allowed inside the play area.
